iCalendar File Format Viewer

How to View an iCalendar (.ICS) File

1. Open the ICS File with a Calendar Application

Most calendar apps, such as Outlook, Google Calendar, or Apple Calendar, can view ICS files directly.

  • Google Calendar: Import the file to see event details.
  • Outlook: Open or import the file for viewing.
  • Apple Calendar: Double-click the file to open it.

2. Use an Online ICS File Viewer

  • You can use online tools like the one provided on your shared link or other ICS file viewers to preview the contents.
  • Simply upload the file to the tool.

The tool will display the event details, such as:

  • Event name
  • Start and end time
  • Location
  • Organizer
  • Description

3. Open the ICS File in a Text Editor

The .ICS file is essentially a text-based format. You can view its raw data by opening it in any text editor like Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac).

Here’s an example of how an ICS file might look:

  • SUMMARY: Event title
  • DTSTART/DTEND: Start and end times
  • LOCATION: Event location
  • DESCRIPTION: Event details
